Using a Microphone with Sound Blaster Z

OK I got this mic

But I'm having some issues setting it up , as in..I dont really know how to set it up...I would be using it for chat in games , as I'm testingf it ( through sound blaster ) ..it doesnt sound so good , ie some hissing , lag plus a slight " ringing / chime type sound , did I buy a lemon ?

Can you try the microphone with your onboard audio, see if you still get hissing or ringing type sound? At least that should indicate if it's the microphone or something to do with the SB Z.

Yeah I'll give it a closer longer look tomorrow Mars .


OK so I plugged the mic in via the front panel ( I know lol )and it works nice
