using keyboard and mouse (wired) a distance from PC

I'm thinking of of putting my PC tower near the TV and leaving my desk where it is, however the cable for the keyboard and mouse would need to be extended by 5M

there seems to be various options.

2* 5M repeater USB extension
1* 5M repeater USB extension and a USB hub?
USB over ethernet ?

really not sure of the options, can anyone help?

I used active USB cables and hubs. Check out my thread on this subject from a year ago.

what active cables are you using? is one 5M active 2.0 or 3.0 extension with a USB hub on the end going to suffice? or would it need to be a powered hub?

So 1* 5M USB 3 active and a single powered USB hub should be good to go?

It works here, though I have my keyboard and mouse working off a USB 2 cable and hub.

nice one, spent a good 45 quid!

Tefal 7hub USB 3 port, 5M USB 3 with active repeater and optional power adaptor port.

DP to HDMI port for the PC monitor.
