UT2004 movie recorder/player util?

~~Use Dumpframes~~

Your file size will be tiny in comparison and your picture quality will be MUCH better and no performance hit.

Make sure demo's are recorded @ 60 fps instead of the standard 30 fps.
You can do this by changing this in the ut2004.ini
NetServerMaxTickRate=30
LanServerMaxTickRate=30

into

NetServerMaxTickRate=60
LanServerMaxTickRate=60

Next thing you need to do is make a bind for your dumpframes:
type this in console:
set input insert dumpframes start
set input home dumpframes stop

You can chose other keys though (and watch out cause TAM overwrites the Home-key with a menu. So what i do is make 2 different ini's: one for playing and one for recording)

When you want to record you press 'insert'. The framedumping will begin and you might notice a slight performance drop, but very very little in comparison to Fraps.

When u want to stop with recording just press 'Home'

Then u exit ut2k4 and use Virtualdub (FREE AND FANTASTIC)
http://www.virtualdub.org/

You open video, select the first .bmp which can be found in the SS-folder (c:/ut2004/screenshots). Virtualdub automaticly selects the other .bmp's.
Save as .avi and u've got yourself a videofile

You can play around with all sorts of Codecs in Virtual dub (download themn manually). I prefer Xvid, Divx or h264
