Hello

Ive been using uTorrrent for several years now without any issues until now, im using BT Infinity and have been getting very good speeds with uTorrent.

Lately though when downloading using uTorrent, my connection has been crashing completely, the torrents start to drop to 0, and then the connection disconnects and crashes my internet connection?

Ive turned off upnp to see if this would help, though im completely clueless on how to try and fix this, im using the latest uTorrent 3.2.2, im going to try some older versions as well.

What im wondering is uTorrent has always been fine with my BT Infinity connection, so im wondering if this is a issue with my connection or uTorrent?

I get no other disconnects when playing games online and browsing.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?

uTorrent is only the application... The fact that it is almost certianly P2P traffic that is going through it means like me(On BT Infinity 2) during peak times 4pm-11pm Mon-Fri, 9am-11pm Sat-Sun I believe, the speeds are beyond pants, even if it is genuine legal traffic :)

uTorrent can be easily configured to get full speeds on Infinity 24/7, im getting dl's of around 75 meg, if you use uTorrent at default settings yes you will get speeds of around 5.0kbs or similar

Try changing global maximum number of connections & maximum number of connected peers to torrent to 25. You should also port forward.

When I use torrents I'm still using an absolutely Ancient version, Think its 2.0.1.

If its the program itself crashing then try a different version, if it's knowkcing out yer connection then as above the global connections may be too much for your router.

Also do bare in mind that if yer Uploading at full whack then your download for things like browsing and gaming will be absolutely crippled.

Not meaning to hi-jack...

Can the same be said of V.Media hubs? - I'm getting like 1.0Mb/s at best...

It might be your being throttled as if you download between certain times say 9am til 9pm you only have about 4-10gb before your download speed is throttled by 75%.
Thats how virgin used to work I don't know if its changed or if all cable packages are but it could be that.
