The Student Industrial Society at Warwick are planning a Corporate Valentines Ball in February, where we invite both students and graduate employers to the event.

Currently, we do not have any ideas for entertainment, apart from a DJ, so I was hoping some of you could help us...

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated :)

wet t-shirt competition.

And they say romance is dead. :p :D

You could have a sort of a raffle maybe where you take a ticket then get matched up with a partner by ticket number as a way to break the ice? I suppose it hinges on what sort of event this is to be and what people are seeking to get out of it.

I think its going to be a little bit more formal, and students and graduate employers get to talk and have a little bit of fun. I don't think the raffle idea is going to work that well, because I am pretty sure students will have their gfs/bfs with them...

Having organised balls before:

Caricaturist - £200
Chocolate fountain (incl. dips) - £400
Circus people (jugglers, etc) - ??
Magician - £50
Jazz Band - £800
Casino tables (3 or 4) - £500
Raffle from ticket stub to get a free meal at a restaurant or box of choccies - £40 (or get it sponsored)

All based on 3 or 4 hours and on their quality. Magician and Caricaturist great because they can walk around tables and do their stuff while people are waiting to be served food and stuff. They are not kiddy style, they are proper cool ones and look quite formal. All of the above went down really well when we organised last year's annual engineers and nurses ball.
