I know this is a bit of a long shot, but will any rental places rent a van out to someone aged 21? I know most of them require 25 but I just wanted to know if there was an exception to the rule.

Depends on what licence you have... as long as you're able to drive what you want to hire most companies will allow you to hire... my dad used Golds last week when we moved...

Will say on the back of your Photocard... because the laws have changed if you wanna drive anything like a 7.5 tonner... just phone round see what they say, thats the best advice I think anyone of us can give you..

You can drive a small peugeot partner (that size, not just that van :p)...

On a post '97 license as far as I know...well, no you deffinatly can, as my mate has an Astra van instead of a car, and he's a year younger than me...he's 19.

I'm ideally after a LWB transit or similar, no more then 3.5 ton. I'm asking as most companies require you to be 25, not because of my license :)

Its both normally, as long as its below 3.5t and their fine with renting it to you... as I said dude, your best option is to just ring around companys and check..

I've phone a couple today and like I said, most have an age restriction, so I just want to know if any companies are more lax on their age policy and if anyone has done it before.

Biggest thing you can drive on a post 97 licence is a Merc Sprinter. But to hire you have to be 25, they won't bend the rule for you.

Hiring age restrictions are a company policy not a legal requirement, hence the thread.

Looking at the link F355, thanks.

Edit: don't seem to do Vans :(

I know, I know, just mentioning that I've never seen or heard of a hire co. bend their policy on 25 y/os.

Eh? There's a seperate page on their site for them that says they do, or do they only do vans from some sites?

Sorry, my bad.

Being bloody blind today.

Edit: for the Vauxhall Vivaro it's 23 to hire :(
