"Vauxhall. Put the fun back into driving."

I have

the Corsa was great fun to drive, more so than the Astra VXR.

The corsa has less power and is better for it. Much more fun to chuck around at a race track.

So have I, I enjoyed it too. See below for remarkable ignorance.

Corsa VXR being "fun"

They are **** cars, even in VXR trim

Too little power, wrong wheel drive, etc

You are so full of crap it's unbelievable.

I see...... Have you driven one?

Too little power...... wrong wheel drive you say......

Sorry but what do you expect from a sub 20k car..... a 500bhp rear wheel drive monster?

I've owned one since 2008. I think its a great car to drive.

My friend picked me up in his sisters Corsa VXR one day, he absolutely loved driving it (partly because I was bricking it in the passenger seat thinking we were going to understeer into a hedge). Did seem a lot of fun though, suprisingly.

Troll was hungry at lunch time and wants some nom nom nom

Have you driven these cars at speed around a track or even on the road. They might be a bit crap in the grand sceme of things, but good and fun are 2 very different things. The corsa IS cracking fun, but like people inc myslef has said, not that great in the grad scheme of things.

No need for you to act like a spoilt troll especially hinting that FWD is a load of old tosh. FWD isn't tosh, just the poster that feels this way.

So you haven't driven one then.....

If you had you wouldn't be making such ridiculous comments.

Too little power? It has 189BHP and around ~ 160BHP per ton.

Yes that is too little, it is the wrong side of 200/ton which is the lower limit of fast enough, with 250/ton being the acceptable daily point for me, and 300-350/ton being the ideal point for daily street use.

I expect at least RWD, if Ford USA can bring out a Mustang for $22k ... which is much less when converted to £.

Yes, I know we have a higher rate of VAT ... but you know what? That is NOT my problem, that is for manufacturers to think about.

A Ferrari 360 CS has 327bp/tonne what world are you living in seriously??

So you are winding people up over a market that does not exist over here, nice one :p

Why on earth are you going off on a tangent about the USA. We are talking about Vauxhalls here in England.

It's not our problem that you are going off on one and can't keep to the point of the thread.

So because you have some abnormally high expectation of what is "acceptable" the Corsa VXR is no good?

Better throw in some other un-acceptable cars then like the ST220, Golf GTi, RS Megane...

Odd...

Not really, give the fact that you can have a sluggish, but still 4L V6 Mustang for £17k, why would you buy a Corsa VXR for anything more than £13k?

I have little time for FF "hot hatches", or most other FF things unless they can out handle the likes of the DC2/DC5/etc

Show me where I can get a brand new 2011 model Ford Mustang in the UK for £17k please, as I want to buy one.

doesnt matter what a dc5 handles like, its power to weight is only around 180-185/ton. too slow, right?

You drive an MR2 right?

Please correct me if I'm wrong but you were also thinking about replacing the MR2 with one of the following -

Mazda RX8 or Toyota Celica.....

Am I correct?
