Hey guys,

Do Power Users have local admin rights? Or do you have to enable a user as an Administrator to enable them to have local admin rights.

Its for third party software and ideally I dont want to give all users administrative rights as they could mess around with pc settings etc hence wondering what other groups I could use?

Ta:)

look in
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy > Local Policies > User Rights Management

and see if what the user is allowed to do, conflicts with what you want

description of each privilege in here:

if you want to frig the settings for a sub-group, then try this

also, sometimes you can get an awkward program to work, by changing permissions on the registry keys it requires. (use a reg sniffer prog to work out what's going on)
