I have compiled a list of stuff I want to buy so I can build a low budget gaming PC.

I was wondering if you guys can tell me if the PC I am gonna build could run WoW, Diablo, Skyrim and future games.

I am not expecting ultra settings with 60FPS, but I would just like to be able to play games still looking nice with decent FPS.

I am coming from a PS3 so anything must be better than a console. Here is my list, can you please let me know if this is any good for a low-end PC. I am on very tight budget.

CPU - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-314-AM

MOBO - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-331-GI

RAM - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-023-OK&tool=3

Graffix - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-102-GI&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1699

SSD - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-003-SD&groupid=701&catid=2104&subcat=

Just need to find a cheap little case. Oh and not sure what Windows to get either.

So thoughts/adjustments would be helpful

Thanks!

Hi there,

For a gaming system I would suggest changing the CPU to an i3 2120 and the motherboard to a h61 board. This review shows how the i3 2120 compares to the FX-4100 in games.

As for the GPU I would go for this HD 6850 - which is much more powerful.

The SSD you picked is really good value and fast enough.

You will also need a decent quality PSU like this one to power it all. Then you just need a case, HDD, DVD drive and OS.

For the OS you will want to go for Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OEM.

If your budget is really tight then you may want to leave out the SSD and just use the mechanical HDD as the primary drive. You won't get the nice performance benefits when loading windows, apps and games provided by an SSD - but you will save a lot of money and games will perform just as well in terms of framerates.

Some of the cases I see come with 500w power supply, would these be good enough?

Can I use the memory I showed you with all this?

And the only thing I have which I can reuse really is a 120GB HDD

Everything else I have is really old.

Most I wanna spend is like £350

What do you think guys shell I get the one for £466?

Also when putting in Graphics cards do you ignore the drivers what come with it and just get them straight off the net which are updated?

That one looks nicer on the price

Thanks for all replies.

Years back I tried a PC build and ended up blowing it up. The part that got me was the wires from the case to the MOBO, I done them wrong and something blew.

Been watching loads of PC building videos though, so hopefully all goes well this time. Gonna be nervous when I turn it all on!

I should be okay, I have read the guide on here too.

Yeah will do, not sure how long till I get the stuff but will be in the next month or so deffo

Thank you all, been a great help.
