I guess we will see a Torro Rosso driver join Red Bull, or perhaps a rookie. I cant see anyone established joining them as a No.2 driver.

Indeed. How "tied down" is he likely to be? Based on every other drive in F1 history, as soon as they fail to give him a championship winning car, he'll look to jump ship, and we all know contracts in F1 can be weasled out of.

As tied down as any employer/employee contract is these days. He likes it here anyway as we are a fun team to work for

Why haven't you mentioned that Adrian Newey has signed a contract extension too CS||nuTs?

Seems just as important imo.

I reckon they only gave him that contract in case he won the title. They can freely dump him this year now

I would love to see Vettels contract to see how much of it is all his way. Brundle made comment on how from speaking to Red Bull team members Vettel is utterly ruthless behind closed doors and takes no prisoners.

I imagine it's a total no1 contract now with certain drivers unable to join the team

Hopefully not, I'd love to see Lewis join Red Bull and kick him into touch.

A sensible move - without major reg changes for a little while (I forget when the next ones are), I can't see the RBR dominance changing a huge amount. Plus, options in other teams are limited.

Good for Massa at Ferrari and for Vettel.

Not sure how good this deal is for RBR actually, when Adrian Newey makes another lemon (which in probability he is due to soon) I doubt Vettel will feature very much, unlike the likes of Lewis, Alonso, Rosberg.

This is based on Vettel barely beating Webber (I don't actually believe he is that great - I would consider him average at best) in a super dominant car last year. I think Teflonso is set to have some fun and a few WDC in the years to come!

Why would they?
They have alonso who almost beat him in a car 0.5-1 second slower all season and the ferrari wasn't even reliable.

He's maybe the 5th best driver on the grid, I don't even see why ferrari would go for him.

Hamilton would pound on him in the same car, so would Alonso, Button and likely Kubica. He's had the luxuary of a huge car advantage (kudos RB and Newey) when ever Button put him under pressure he made mistakes in 09 and he made stacks in 2010.

Granted he is a young man but it's nothing like the pressure hamilton had in his rookie year against alonso.

If ferrari want anyone they should go spend the budget on hamilton when Alonso is giving up or shot.
