VHS to PC

I am looking to convert my old family VHS tapes to a digital format, and was wondering what would be a fairly cheap way of doing so.

I have seen VCR/DVD/HDD recorders but I do not want to spend £200+ on one of those, so was thinking something that connects my VCR to my PC would be good.

Any recommendations?

there are a set of leads you used to be able to ge to do this, have some, i dont know if you can still buy them
i got them from overclockers
they plug into the scart on the vhs, then into the pc,
you run some capture software, and it puts the vhs into an electronic format on the pc for you
