Mobo - Asus P5QL Pro
RAM - 4gig Corsair TwinX XMS2 6400
PSU - either Antec Earthwatts 500w, Corsair HX520w or Seasonic S12 II 500w.
Hard drive - 250gb Samsung Spinpoint F1
DVD RW - Pioneer DVR216DBK
CPU - Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200
Mouse - choice of Logitech LX8, G5 or the Razer Diamondback Red
I already have bought an Antec 300 case and Logitech Ultra flat keyboard.
Gfx card and monitor to be decided when I have the cash :(.
Its hardly high spec but, in my opinion, its a decent, value for money build.
Any thoughts would be welcomed especially on which of the PSU's to choose.

Nothing wrong with that build at all. Do you have some sort of graphics card to use in the meantime just for display ?
Corsair are the favourite PSU recommendation on here but personally I'd go for the Seasonic, although they are likely to have built both. The Earthwatts is good too, just maybe not quite as good as the others.

The earthwatts isn't modular either. I quite fancy having a tidy case for a change :). I must say that i'm leaning towards the Corsair PSU for the extra 20w at a similar price to the Seasonic. The Seasonic has some really good reviews though. I' ll pick up a cheap card until I can get a 4850. Half the cost of the build will be going on the gfx card and monitor! Ive also no need for speakers as I nearly always use headphones.

I'd spend a bit more & get a 320gig as these are single platter drives, dont think the 250's are though.

You'll have to ex

plain 'platters' a bit more if you can. :) Actually, looking at prices, for another £12 I can go from 250gb to 640gb. It makes sense doesn't it?

On the other hand, the 640gb only has 8mb cache compared to the 16mb cache of the 250gb. Would that make a big difference? If so, I can always drop to the 500gb, 16mb cache drive.
