Ok well I have used the search button and seen a lot of happy people who have purchased this monitor.

Now atm I have a 19" Vision Master Pro 454 which imo looks really nice! It is really good with games at 1600x1200....but unfortunately the x800xt pe cant play some games at this resolution and since I have heard about conroe I have decided to sell my current pc and build a new one!

So my question is will the Viewsonic VX2025 be a good buy paired with a X1900 XT-X? What do games look like at this resolution....do many support it or do I have to have a stretched game? Also I take it ghosting is no longer a problem?

I would say i watch movies and play games equally so movies will be good but am worried about gaming on it.

Cheers

I have got both...1900xtx and the 20" viewsonic 2025...and yep its a fine combination. Games that dont have widescreen support do get stretched a little but I wouldnt let that put you off a widescreen. Games that do have WS support look and play awsome..far better IMO than a normal. Thhe monitor is great for gaming!

certainly a nice screen, hard to say whether ghosting would be a problem as some people still find even the fastest TFT's aren;t suited to their use. It just depends on you, but the responsiveness is certainly very good and perfectly fine for most people. If games don't support WS res by default, you could check over at widescreengamingforum to see if they have "hacks" for them.

Well if the games are squished a little it doesn't really matter too much but good to hear it is good paired with the X1900XT-X! I will bookmark that site though as preferable WS is better!

Thanks

deja vu...

I just bought a vx2025 to replace my VM pro 454 :D
I can tell you that with a little fiddling you should get quite a few games running okay on it. BF2 and Condition zero/HL2 seemed to work fine although BF2 required a manual edit of the config. I also had GT Legends running fine through it. I'm sure some games will have problems but with patches and a little help from places like the above mantioned widescreengaming site I'm sure we'll survive.

I did notice that the vx2025 actually did display at least one resolution with 1:1 pixel mapping - must have been an odd output from my ATi card ... most of the time it upscales and stretches the picture if it's not already widescreen...

I like it a lot so far :)

Well that is really pleasing to hear and I have just ordered it for a good price too! Now it is a shame but I will have to make do with my x800xt pe running as a x850xt pe until september time when I upgrade the rest of my pc. Oh well Im sure I will survive......hopefully BF2 wont be too bad!

I'm sure you will like it. BF2 runs decent with any decent graphics card as long as you got 2Gb or ram in your system.

I'm still running on a 9800pro!! ...I used to run it at 1280x960 ... I'm feeling the need to upgrade now that 1680x1050 is my resolution of choice  bugger, and I thought my bank account was safe for a few months
