It's an Indie game. I would not really expect great graphics from those in general to be honest.

Nice idea, not sure it's my cup of tea though. I'd rather play Age of Empires.

There are many games out there that are indie and well designed. And by well designed I don't mean the latest graphics with particle effects. Banished is an indie game designed by one guy and he managed to make it look amazing.

I hate that people instantly accept crap graphics 'cus its an "indie" game. Put some damn effort into the art, not just the code. It just seem like the quick and easy way out for most games now.

Crap can be okay if it's used in context like the Stardew Valley game that's going for the retro Harvest Moon feel to preserve nostalgia.

Villagers has way too much color in its current design and the palette is too saturated for my taste, IMHO.

I would rather have a game that looks "ok" and plays great than some shallow pos that looks great and plays terrible.

May have something in store for you then, I'll be starting a campaign for a game on KS in a few weeks

I wouldn't worry about the graphics, I play lots of Age Of Empires 2 which has worse graphics then this but it doesn't make it any less compelling or additive. The key to games like this is game balance, variety and pacing what makes AOE2 great is all the counters and wide meta game.

Looks like The Settlers, which is one of my all time favourite Games. Settlers II especially.

It is very clunky even though the idea behind the game is a good one... Building is a bit slow and what's worse about 45mins into the game all mouse clicks became unresponsive. So clicking on any buttons did nothing and I had to ctrl alt del.

Needs more work
