Since switching to 50mbit this afternoon, for some reason my email is not working at all. Is there any migration process or something involved when switching to 50mbit? Please help!

Do you mean you can't connect to your mail server, or you can't send mail?

What are you switching to 50Mb from? Another Virgin cable product?
If so, then nothing should have changed.

If you are moving from another ISP and can't send mail, it could be that you are still trying to use the previous ISPs SMTP server and it's failing as you are no long on their network.

Sorry should have made it clearer!

Switching from 20mbit to 50mbit.

Using Outlook 2k7, settings not changed or anything! Just a simple upgrade to 50mbit.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: More info:

Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: -ERR pop operation is not allowed for this user.

Quadruple checked! I can log into webmail.ntlworld.com but it just shows me the settings page and not the my inbox/sent/spam folder etc.

Have the ntlworld pop/smtp settings changed or anything? Presumably the username is still the bit before the @ntlworld.com?

Long shot.... could Virgin have somehow disabled POP3 access leaving webmail accessible??

Does Virgin offer IMAP access and have you tried that?
