Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Called Thursday asking to upgrade from 200 to 300, cost me an extra £10/month. Superhub 3 arrived this morning. Running modem mode connected to my AC88U, getting some nice speeds, 330mbps down, 21mbps up via Speedtest.net, Steam is showing downloads of 36MB/s

I was paying £45.75 for vivid 200, spoke to the Indian call centre today about upgrading to 300 vivid and they offered it to me for £10 more, I said that's too much! He went to speak to his supervisor and they offered me it for £44.75 a month.
Quite surprised i got it cheaper but I'll take it. Can you still not push for more off as your under 14 days?

I've got one of the 3.0 hubs. The maximum latency spikes are slightly higher than I would like, but getting almost full speed at peak times at the moment.
 
Does anyone know how to apply a 'partner' discount to a existing connection? I see on the new customer portal for it you can get 100Mb for £27.25 and the gamer package that I am interested in is £37.25. Currently paying £36.24 a month for 150Mb. The guy on web chat wasn't able to budge from the normal prices, so a slight saving for staying on my current speed or £1 extra for 200Mb.

Anyone with experience of the above? Or had any luck negotiating a better price?
 
Been struggling to load the Virgin media website these last few days what is going on.

Just want to send Virgin an email for sales inquiry.

That is aweful, I haven't read this whole thread so us that over utilisation? Even if it is that's very bad over utilisation!

They fixed mine after 6 weeks which looking at the general rule is VERY quick but after the lies and deceit they used when dealing with me I'm thinking of leaving anyway, I prioritise my purchases and services to companies with great customer service and VM aren't one of them now.
 
I'm guessing you guys were out of contract and have now re-contracted for the deals?

Yeah, new 12 month contract but it's not like I was going anywhere else anyway. VM now giving me four times the speed anyone else is capable of. BT (et al) "fibre" is getting left behind.
 
I've got homeworks 300 with the lowest level tv and phone, think I've got any wiggle room? Only joined in Feb :p

Need to test the phone actually as the engineer left saying it wasn't working.

Hi, is your SH3 in normal mode (not modem mode only)?
