Well on my 385/20 I am getting 250/20 in Solihull!

VM told me over the phone that they will be trialling 500 mbps very soon in my area and I should be able to sign up! Although with all the throttling that VM do with single thread downloads etc it hardly seems worth it!

'Max Traffic Rate' for downstream and upstream is what you're after, that is nothing to do with the speed

e.g. mine is "Max Traffic Rate 112640000 bps" for 100mbit (they connect you higher than advertised speed to cover off overhead so connected at 112mbit).

Yeah should be fine. There will be a small box attached to the outside of the property and they will just run a new cable from that, around the outside wall and into the room you want it in.

Is there a modem or TV box left by the previous owner? If so, I would disconnect them and leave them in a pile elsewhere.

Nothing left behind, I have the perfect cupboard under the stairs that will house my router, NAS etc.

I rebooted it last night, the upload is now up from 17Mbps to 23.5Mbps but still far from 35Mbps.

I reduced my service from VIP 350 to same but with 200mb service to try to maintain my monthly cost after my first years offer ran out (I really didnt fancy paying £130 a month), I am still a bit puzzled as to why Virgin run the 200mb service upload at 10mb when BT fibre 70mbs still provides 20 up. I'm hoping they relent and push it up to 20 now that the 350 service is getting 35ish.

I finally got around to ringing VM about my contract as my bill has crept up. They didn't offer me much but they've reduced my bill by £6 and put me on the 350 service so not too bad as I'm now paying less for more speed!

btw, I am in London Area 21, anyone else in this area managed to get 35Mbps upload speed? I am getting 23-24Mbps which seem a bit low.

ahh ok, I got 220DL and 12UL, I'm in north london not far from holloway prison lol.

We have the SH2 in Modem mode with an asus DSL-AC68U , wireless and wired.

Is this a temporary upload speed increase trial thing or have we got it for good?
