Virgin Media new next generation TV service

We won't be paying any more per month tbh or an upfront cost. £96.50 per month is enough, plus call charges to 0870/0845 numbers etc

£96?

I assume you have all the Sky Sports and Movies subscriptions?

We have the top packages from VM and we're only paying about £54 P/M...

More pushing on the 3D then.. mmm

A 1TB HDD would be nice. Not even sure what the current V+HD is!

It's 160GB I think?

I may ring Virgin and ask if I can dump my V+ HD box and see how much to take up this TiVo powered service.

Although i'm not sure if its worth paying an extra £2 more a month for a bit more hard drive space? :S Surely if your a TV XXL customer it should be free, albiet with an upfront cost for upgrading

You are quite obviously not getting the top of everything.

I'm paying £37 per month and get:

V+HD plus an additional second box, plus all channels except Sky channels
50MB broadband
Unlimited free calls weekdays and weekends

Although I get everything from Virgin half price due to staff discount but even at regular price what we have is only £74

Can we get some 50% codes.

50mb
xl tv 2x v+ boxes
M phone(haven't even got a phone plugged in)
69a month.

Whats this about early tivo boxes?
Think my subscription is up march is. What's the chance of getting these boxes severely reduced, don't want to pay £150 for each new box. Maybe at £75 a box I would do.

The series 1 Tivo is a standalone pvr that has not been in production for around 10 years.

When released in the UK they were promoted by SKY but this stopped when SKY released their inferior SKY+ box.

Virgin has no official connection with the old Tivo series 1's but as a goodwill guesture to current registered owners/subcribers of these boxes they will be offering some form of offer,

I get exactly the same for £42. And I don't even have to work there because I know someone who does! :p

I've also just got brand new TV boxes and a Super Hub because i've just moved house and had a new install :D

Then you should know that Sky channels = $$$ on top of your sub.

would love to be in a cabled area, I still have my original 10year old TiVo running with its own sky digibox next to a sky HD box.

I would switch to the new virgin TiVo in a second if I could get the service

No one understood Tivo 10 years ago, and it failed in the UK, the TiVo v1 is still years ahead of the sky HD boxes, most of the features mentioned by virgin (except internet streaming) are things the 10 year old TiVo is still doing

VM phoned me earlier and offered me a HD TV package, free install, 2 months free XL package, then £25 a month or the cheaper packages for £12 or something.

She said the box was Cisco.

I'm quite happy with sky, have basic at the moment for about £21, was just thinking of getting HD with them at +£10 per month then £60 install.

Would I be losing any channels? Whats the Cisco box like? Is the deal any good?

Edit - after checking the VM site it seems she was giving me more expensive prices than they normally charge, no wonder she was so keen for me to take it.
