Is there anyone else on here experiencing a massive blackout with their virgin media connection? Ours dropped out at midnight ans im now camped in the library to get my internet fix (and do an essay as well....)

There are MSOs in the following areas:

Nottingham - NG17
Southend on Sea - SS2
Stoke on Trent - ST5
St Helens - WA10

Oddly they have all been raised in the last few hours.

Any of them your areas?

Turns out it got turned back on half an hour ago :S ah well bed makes the confusion go away (plus its a bit slower now weirdly)

Mine's been **** since october. Not happy, but it should be fixed this week, fingers crossed. Some students are hogging all the upload bandwidth!

Been checking the Router log and someone aside from me and my flatmate has been connecting to my Router wirelessly throughout the day  I even have a key on the Router so they must have cracked it! How can I lock them out?

- Change the key, use WPA2-PSK encryption if you already aren't
- Change the SSID (wireless name)
- Hide the SSID from broadcasting
- Enable MAC address filtering on your router
-- List only your devices' MAC addresses

Sorted.

My Virgin connection has been 'out' of since Saturday morning. Whenever I try and browse the web I get a message "unable to authenticate modem". Gave Virgin a call and they said all customers in my area are affected. ETA for a fix is 3-5 days.

Something to do with their billing system and old NTL customers....

I'm in the Cambridge area
