Hi there
Never reported back, but in short the car was an absolute blast at Donnington. A vast improvement on turn in on the chicane and faster through craners. Generally the car always felt un-easy going through craners anything above 100mph, think previous maximum was 102-104mph. With the setup, 100mph felt nice and only signs of un-easiness showed themselves beyond 105mph so a certain improvement. Still compare that to the CSL which would easily do 110mph+ through craners and feel ok whereas so far 108mph is the maximum I've done through craners but I'd rather take it easy than overcook it through there. One of my mates in his GT3 hit 116mph through craners and exited backwards over 110mph, thankfully he hit nothing but the kitty litter did nothing for his wheels or paintwork.
So in short the geo not only improved the cars abilities and lowered my best lap time (1:23) but it felt a lot better and more fun too with very neutral handling with progressive oversteer on corner exit if too early or applying too much power. By the way I don't chase lap times as that could end messy.
Since the weather has turned cold and wet however this geo has being well a bit of a handful. The car in the dry on the road had a hint of understeer, is perfect! But in the wet it's neutral and oversteer can be an issue on lower speed corner entry or corner exit, in some ways fun, but takes away a bit of the confidence I had previously to hustle the car in the wet.
Anyway I'm fully adjustable now but to start with I've made some minor changes as I feel all I need is just a hint more understeer, so I've upped the front tyres from 33psi to 34psi cold, dropped the rears from 39psi down to 37psi cold. I've then widened the rear track by 4mm and decreased the front track by 4mm. The result, well seems to have worked, basically a marginal reduction in front grip in exchange for a tad more rear grip. So very happy and goes to show do not under-estimate on how adjusting your cars tyre pressures can effect handling dynamics. If I need to dial in further push I can just stiffen the front ARB but for wet driving softer is better.
