Vista has drivers for the majority or hardware you might have but it doesn't have everything. Have you tried searching for the webpage of the maker of the device and see if there are any drivers on their website for Vista?

is it just a normal flash drive? it shouldnt need drivers, only extra features like encryption as part of the drive (fingerprint scanner etc) need it afaik.

does vista see it as an unknown device? if so it might be the same problem i had prev - windows keeps a stupid cache of usb devices that causes nothing but problems.

the fix is to delete it. windows\info\infcache.1 - then reboot. reconnect flash drive in windows and hopefully it will work.

sorry if that's not what's causing it for you - no other suggestions
