vista alternative media website live.

Consider yourself lucky
I'm trying to get the upgrade to Vista Business from my new laptop. No response from Moduslink, & I've e-mailed the the required proof of purchase twice. I've got to pay thirteen pounds, AND wait for 4- 6 weeks to have delivery after the retail release of Vista, if they even manage to deal with it.

Moduslink are what appear to be an incompetant pain in the rear.

I rang Microsoft UK support today on the number thats in the leaflet, they didn't have a clue what i was talking about, they even said to get in touch with OCUK even though it's Microsoft at fault, in the end they said to just keep trying which i have been, all day infact, and nothing.

I hope us that bought retail are entitled to this 64bit DVD, otherwise it will seem like a big scam by Microsoft.

I dont think we are entitled to it tbh, theres been aload of mix up and i think Vista Home Premium Retail is 32bit and nothing else, where you can get 64bit for free in a special offer when buying it. As it does say on leaflet "This offer may only be available for a limited time"

But i said that before and ill ask this again, what if you want 64bit Home Premium Retail? you need to go OEM or have they still to release a 64bit Retail version? Who knows but something is very fishy.

The thing is, why would they put a leaflet in the package with this information on it if we aren't entitled to 64bit, also what about the people that need the 32bit version on CD instead of DVD because they don't have a DVD-ROM drive.

the same info is also on the packaging. iv been able to order 64bit dvd, allthow even after that i get the error comming up. looks like website is having issue reason for error message.

I just ordered mine there,, once you enter your product key and the error messege comes up, just keep refreshing page, will put you through eventually. I got through first time but 32bit CD was only listed so had to do it all over again before the 64DVD came up :D.

Should receive it by the end of the year probably lol.
