In XP everything works perfectly but I've recently started using Vista (Ultimate retail) on a seperate partition.

The card installed fine and I'm using the latest drivers from Creative's site. HOWEVER everytime I've turned the PC off and on, overnight for example, Vista informs me I have no soundcard installed and I have to go through the process of removing the existing drivers and installing it again. If I leave the PC on 24/7 there's no problem whatsoever.

Anyone else come across this?

Ive gone back to xp, due to small niggly probs with vista, but games do run smoother on vista with my 3yr old system, see in sig, Ive upgraded it and stuff but it still got the same motherboard.

Im amazed that the board is still chugging along, cos it has never been right since the day I had it. Bios resets if the power fails, It has a benny if I boot a OS from a usb external drive, and it cannot see my usb floppy the next time pc starts if i press the reset button or go into the bios. Theres been times that ive wanted to out a hammer through it.

But the bas**** thing wont die so I have a good excuse to get a new board, and I've given it some rough treatment over the years, I think its staying alive to see how far it can p*** me off before I take a hammer to it.
