Vista Compatible Firewalls and Anti-Virii?

Hey guys,
As title I'm looking for a (preferably freeware) firewall and anti-virus for a friend. Needs to be user-friendly, low-rescource and require little configuration. Needs to be vista compatible.

*please note my vista experience is non-existent.

I can certainly recommend Avira Antivirus, its very low on resources compared to AVG and i barely needed to configure it at all when i installed it, and best of all, its free! Im not too sure about firewalls, I am only using the windows firewall at the moment.

Use the built-in firewall, and AVG Free for the AV.

I recommend Comodo Firewall and Avast Anti-virus. Both are great and free, I find that avast is better than AVG. It uses less resources and is faster at scanning for viruses.

Personally I'm using Avast at the moment. I'd recommend it or AVG Free. I don't use a firewall so can't comment.

Another Vote for Kaspersky ,I am running Kaspersky IS7 under Vista x64 ,works great isn’t a resource hog and easy enough to configure .

Free ware I have found Avira Antvir free edition very good ,followed by good old AVG free

Vista firewall with Avast and router,Spybot and SpywareBlaster with Windows Defender real time scan off but set to scan once a week and last UAC enabled .
