If you have any of the following games:-

Tiger Woods
Medal of Honour Airbourne
Overlord

and maybe others......

Could you please check the event log and click on Application and see if you have some entries

Called Desktop Windows Manager

and it says something like

A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by process ?????

and then

The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because composition was disabled by a running application

Yes I get these when starting Medal of Honour Airbourne, what's it mean?

When you send the error to microsoft there are no results found :confused:

i think its because the game cannot run in aero mode or something I get it in GRAW2 aswell....

Only game that seems not to do it is Bioshock........

Can people test a few games and come back with some results :D
 
weird :D never noticed this happening before and I get loads of errors like 1 saying a request to disable and then 3 or 4 saying it was unable to start because composition was disabled by a running application.......

Are you getting the same amount 2 types:-

a. A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by process ?????
then
b. The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because composition was disabled by a running application
 
what are you on about? of course windows disables aero when you start a game. what do you expect? :confused:

if you look, they're not errors in event viewer, merely information notices.

games that have the option to run in a window run ok. pro evo 6 is one example. i'm sure there are more. :)
 
Aero is supposed to be disabled when games are running. Unless you're having a problem with Aero not being turned back on after exiting the game?
