Vista making MP3's and AVI's play in slomo

Wavs seem ok but Mp3's and video are unpayable...what's that all about ?

Upgrade home premium edition over the top of XP MCE. Toshiba G20 Laptop, audio drivers updated..

Any suggestions much appreciated
