I get a Manage Wireless Networks dialog which looks like this:

manage.wireless.networks.broken.jpg

If I start a new user profile, it looks like this:

manage.wireless.networks.jpg

Is there any way to reset the former to the latter, ideally without starting a new user profile (the nuclear option IMO)?
I've tried resetting the MRU entries in the registry, but it didn't change anything.

Vista Home Premium, latest updates, on a Dell Latitude D820 with the latest Intel 3945ABG drivers.

Anyone?

Google suggests it should be in 'Extended Tiles' view, but a) there's no option for that and b) there shouldn't be that sort bar there...

Random guess, profile types?

Try this maybe?

In the "Manage Wireless Networks" window, select: Tools / Folder Options / View / Reset Folders

Then right click back on the main "Main wireless Networks" window and shouldn't be greyed out?

Both profiles are administrators.

Tools -> Folder Options etc lets me access the sort and view options, but nothing puts it back the way it was.

Ancient thread and all, but if I open the network and sharing centre, clear the (HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\) BagMRU and Bags keys, then open Manage Wireless Networks, I get new BagMRU/Bags corresponding to MWN - if Bags\[number]\Shell\{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}\ has the values:
"GroupCollapseState"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\
00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,21,00,00,00,04,00,00,\
00,21,00,00,00,4e,00,65,00,74,00,77,00,6f,00,72,00,6b,00,73,00,20,00,79,00,\
6f,00,75,00,20,00,63,00,61,00,6e,00,20,00,76,00,69,00,65,00,77,00,20,00,61,\
00,6e,00,64,00,20,00,6d,00,6f,00,64,00,69,00,66,00,79,00,00,00

"Sort"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,ac,05,\
5e,9e,36,19,75,4a,94,f7,47,04,b8,b0,19,23,01,00,00,00,01,00,00,00

everything works fine. Incidentally, if you convert GroupCollapseState to ASCII (as regedit does), you get "Networks you can view and modify".

The problem is that deleting Bags/BagMRU after that then resets the sort order (though the group name, "Networks you can view and modify", sticks).

Anyone who knows more than me about the Registry able to point out any process that'll make it stick?
