I have applied the 4GB+ patch: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929777

I have two 2GB ram modules and i cant get windows to boot with 4GB, it did on my first install of vista then i just started getting BSOD after BSOD, and i know both sticks are ok, as i have tried them both.

when i do try it with both stick, the BSOD is up for about 0.1 of a second so i cant read the stop code

I'm thinking of upping the north bridge voltage. but what is the defalt on the P5K-E wifi. and what should i set it two i can pick from 1.25,1.40,155,1.70

edit: note everything is at stock at them moment, although i have locked down the ram timings and voltage, as i found it difficult to boot without them set.

Try 1.40v, then 1.55v if it still won't boot.

so do you think im looking in the direction, i know its a good idea to up the voltage with 4 sticks, but i thought it would be fine with 2 sticks.

also is this going to hamper me when i start to overclock?

actually i think i may have a dud stick of ram, windows boots fine with one stick, but when i switch it with the other stick, i get a post beep then all i get is a black screen, no ASUS logo, no raid controller info etc.

its odd as my first install of vista worked first time with 4GB of ram and it also displayed in system property's 4GB of ram

I am using Corsair CM2X2048-6400C5DHx version 4.1 with timeings of 5-5-5-18 and at 1.8volts which is what the sticker says

I have just installed in my new p5e & 8500 intel motherboard 2* 1 GB and 2* 2 GB corsair 5-5-5-12 timings and all ok :-)
along with Vista 64 premium
