Vista x64 & AHCI

I'll be building my new pc this morning and just have a question about AHCI. Do I still need the drivers to load pre-install like you do with XP? I'm using an Asus P6T Deluxe.

Not as far as I am aware. Ensure that the AHCI setting is enabled in the BIOS before installation. I'm presuming it's Vista you are installing?

Yeah, Vista x64.

Vista should have the drivers pre-installed, tho it does no harm to load the latest ones anyway (you don't need to have a floppy drive to do so like XP does).

I've downloaded all the latest drivers for the board and I'll change the setting in the BIOS before I install Vista.

Stupid question regards this...

If I want to run a RAID0 on my OS drives on the P5Q-Deluxe BIOS should I set it up as AHCI or as RAID?

Kinda confused as I guess I want AHCI enabled in Windows but want to make sure I can use the Intel Matrix thingy to setup the RAID in the first place. Its 2 RE3s if that makes any difference...

If you want to run RAID then select RAID.
