Hiya's,
Will try to keep this simple, Swapped my quad for a later one (still have original quad to hand)

Doubt this would have any bearing on what i'm about to post but who knows (both quads are GO steppings)

Ok, Running vista x64, Updated logitech g15 and mx518 to the latest x64 drivers from their site (think i used usa site as uk link had kb/mouse driver both as mouse driver when i tried to install lol)

Anyways i didn't save older logitech drivers, Now i am getting way high cpu usage spikes on my g15 lcd

With xp i used to get very low usage spikes but now i'm running x64 vista it can up most cores to 90% plus on occasions

Is this just a driver problem ??? Or is it something to do with my swapping quads ??? Anyone else had this happen with vista x64 and logitech g15 ?

ps, G15 is later orange led model

Weird i know but maybe someone can shed some light on this lol

Many Thanks

Ciao

I have a quad core Q6600 and the same keyboard, and do not have the problem that you are experiencing. What I did have however was the same problem with spurious high cpu usage, which I tracked down to a cpu meter on the sidebar. Once that was removed, my problem went away. I have a different authored one now that does not create a problem. Try closing the sidebar and see if your problem goes away.

Hiya,
Don't have sidebar gizmo on

Been looking in bios (abit ip35 pro) and i think i messed up on a few settings lol

Might reset bios and then sort my prefs

Cheers for reply :)

Will let ya know if i fix it ;)

Hiya,
Well i don't use the sidebar so it's set to off in its options

Don't really matter now as 3 out of my 4 sticks of ballistix have just died on me lol

So will be sorting replacement ram out before i tackle the spiking (who knows hopefully my dying ram could cause it he he)

Cheers

Hiya Mattus,
Boards the Abit ip35 pro

Tried all individually

Mobo error onboard lcd gizmo spurts out C1 i think it was, In manual it's the ram check part etc

Yeah all but 1 stick works :( Talk about being annoyed

I have been having read/copy errors so i put these now with hindsight to the ram going-south i guess

Got them from here in pairs, If i rem right the early/older batch has the single remaining working stick (HS on them is 2 ali sheets, whereas later ram HS's hinge and clip over the top (if that makes sense))

Yeah weird but lucky one lasted or i would be hunting for crucials number to rma them lol

Dunno whether to grab some corsair from the shop when i hopefully go saturday

Man i tell you, Vista sux with 1gig lmao

Ohh darn, Wish i had as much goodluck as i have bad, Seems badlucks all i get he he

Cheers

I have the same revision 2 G15 (orange LED one) and it runs perfectly in Vista. The usual 2-3% CPU usage while browsing etc. and 0% when absolutely idle.

Dual core Conroe here.

Hiya,
Mine worked fine on older logi drivers in xp a while back, I get vista x64 as i couldn't afford it when i built this rig and i get usage spikes :(

Craig321, If you read above a slot or two my memories died lol

Down to 1gig of ballistix in x64 vista :( t'aint a pretty sight

When i sort new or rma ram i'll try and track the cause of the spiking

Many Thanks All :)

Have Fun

I suffered Vista with 1GB for a while too when one of my sticks of Ballistix died... it's awful! To think they're selling systems with 512MB and Vista...

Sounds like a dodgy batch then. If it's any consolation Crucial's RMA service is really good so you should be up and running in a few days :)
