VM wants us to buy a new box when we have a V+ box here already

Hi,

The previous tenants left a V+ box here (which is working and giving us basic channels!) but we want to get the medium package for free.

Now we've got a broadband account but they want us to pay a £15 charge for a new box to be sent out.

Now im sure its just the card that has to be swapped out for one from our account. They sent us a new modem stating it wouldn't work yet we haven't even opened the box they sent us and we're using the old one perfectly.

Are they trying to shaft us and is there a way for us to get them to send out just the card?

I just ordered their XL TV today (already have Phone and Broadband).

I initially said I was just checking price, and was quoted £49 for the V+HD box, I was asked if I was already with a Digital TV provider and I said yes I'm with Sky (not mentioning I had already canceled it) and was told "Well in that case I can do the V+HD box for free".

Might only be if you want the XL package but it could be worth giving it a try.
