VOB to AVI free converter?

Hey all,

I'm looking for a free video file converter that lets me convert VOB files to compressed AVIs. Now preferably I would like to be able to use my own video and sound codecs, but if that is not possible, then as long as the output is good enough I could always convert the AVI that is produced with Virtual Dub or TMPEG to an AVI of my own specifications.

Unfortunately, both TMPEG and Virtual Dub don't appear to support this.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: This doesn't have to be one that does all the fancy stuff of ripping them off DVDs by the way, that's by no means essential.

i was going to suggest tmpeg so thats odd that it doesnt do it. Im sure it does.

Erm maybe it's my extreme noob-ness then.

In TMPEG Plus, when I go to select video source, it just says 'C:\(blah blah blah) is not supported' etc.

Yep, you were right.

It's TMPEG 3.0 Express that has the multi-format support, not the 2.5 Plus.

Problem solved.
