Vodaphone contract - good deal?

I've got a vodaphone contract that i never use, the sim is just in my car phone, i pay £20 and get 75mins and 100sms, but what im planning on doing is giving the contract to my mum and getting an upgrade on the phone...

I called them today, and they offered me a free Samsung G600 with the same tariff (£20, 75mins and 100sms) or £25, 225mins + 250sms on an 18m contract.

tbh this doesnt seem a good deal to me, what deal should i be looking for, I said if he could do the £25 tariff for £20 with the G600 then id take it, but he wouldnt do the deal....

My contract is up with Vodafone, for the past 18 months i have been on £25 200mins 250 txt with passport and stop the clock.

moving to O2 for the Nokia N82, £35 month 600 mins 1000 txt.

i've just left vodafone as they wouldn't give my a decent offer with the N95 8GB. Now with Three and they ring me up offering my deals - too little too late. Anyway make sure you speak with retentions as they give better offers.

I've been looking into a few contracts myself recently and I can recommend Three.

£15/m can get you 300 mix/match* and a choice of free phones, including the 6120 Classic which I think is a very good deal considering it's features. Also, you can go via quidco and be recommended by a friend to save even further

* meaning 300 units to use on texts/minutes - each minute equalling 1 unit, each text equalling 1 unit.

I'm looking at the MM300/N95 8gb combination. The offer (ability to get that deal) ends at the end of February.

thats what i've just gone for. Last nite I also signed the missus upto the MM100 for £12p/m, as you also get 300 minutes 3-3 calls plus i used my number to get £30 off both bills.

Am I right in saying that after the end of February you'll be unable to get the MM300 & N95 8gb for £30 a month?

not sure, when i asked in store when the current offer run ends the sales guy had no idea but did say they have spent a load on advertising it (no idea where though) so I imagine it will run for a while.

I'm tempted by this deal, for the first time I might actually get off the payg on O2.

Thing is for my home town - postcode BT38 7RA - it says there is no 3G nor EDGE... as far as I can tell. Can anyone properly confirm this who is better at this than me?
