They haven't announced this, but looking on their site it's plain to see:

Minimum System Requirements:

Compatible VR HMD: HTC Vive
CPU: Intel Core i7 4790 or higher
OS: Windows 7 or higher
RAM: 5GB or higher

GPU:
Low Graphics Setting
GeForce GTX 1060
GeForce GTX 980 Ti
GeForce GTX TITAN X
GeForce GTX 1070

Medium Graphics Setting
GeForce GTX 1080

High Graphics Setting
One dedicated GPU for Graphics:
GeForce GTX 1080 or greater
GeForce GTX 980Ti in SLI or greater

Plus a dedicated GPU for PhysX:
GeForce GTX 980Ti or greater

I wouldn't say they are getting sloppy. They are pushing the tech to the max. Watch the videos for more info. They explain the physics that are used in the funhouse and how crazy technical it is. For their in house demo, they had 2x1080s in SLI with a 3rd 1080 for dedicated PhysX.
