VW Complete Porsche Take-Over

Interesting and apparently on the cards for a while.

I wonder if we'll see more Porsche tuned audi products and what it will mean for VAGs other performance brands.

Porsche are supposed to be back in LMP1 at Le Mans in 2014. You don't usually see intra-brand racing as it has strange effects on sales, hence why we never saw Jaguar vs Ford vs Aston until the brands split. I would say that in sports car racing, Audi has the technological edge and experience over Porsche. So my point is this: I can't remember what it was :p

To be honest I think it will help improve the technology and reliability of the porsche engines.

VAG group sells about 7.5 million cars per year, porsche sells 25 000, so they will be able to throw a lot more money behind R&D.

I hope porsche start to use VW keys fobs and the VW SatNav as they are much better then the pap that Porsche sell.

Porsche is changing, their main range cars are becoming more capable, faster and simply for most people better, but they are losing more of their character in my opinion. The new 911 doesn't really capture me and I can't say why, it looks OK, its interior is lovely and god it's quick but something about it is missing. I hope they don't move this across to their GT models and I really hope they maintain that rawness. As they showed with the RS4.0 when they want to they can still make quite simply the greatest all round drivers car in the world, they still have perfection within them. Can't wait to see the next GT3, mainly because it will make the others ones more attainable again :)

The new 991 does seem to be a lot softer but lets be honest, this mean that they will sell more cars.

I think the new GT3 will be just as raw if not more so then the last one as they are not aiming at the mass-market with the GT3.

The only issue I have is that the 991 is just too expensive now, a PDK 911 S with a few important extras (it does not even come with heated seats) is over 90k which I feel is a little too much for a 911.
