I love Fridolins...Probably my favourite aircooled VW (after a nice early notchback Type3)...

But check this out:

Wheels are awful, but should prove an interesting project though.

What is the engine? RS4 Lump? Not too hot on VAG engines.

If it ever works. All I see is a bare shell with an engine and some wheels carefully positioned..

Big project, can it even be done?

All projects have to start somewhere, I remember when my mate's pro street V8 Trabant looked a bit like that and we stood there pointing at it deciding what to put where. Two years later it was being sprayed light blue ready to terrorise the streets of Uxbridge...

I've never seen a fridolin before. God damn I never want to again. It seems to be wearing a magical cloak of extreme fugliness +5:(

W12...as in from the new gizzolf?

How easy is it to get hold of one of those and more to the point...surely if you could afford one it'd be worth sticking it in something worthwhile.

...mk1 golf perhaps?

W12 as in Phaeton...

How is this any less 'worthwhile' than a Golf?

Golf would be the dull and obvious choice tbh.

I'm not sure I agree really, this wont handle and it certainly won't be suitable for utilizing the power that engine will supply. The golf would be and I bet you you'd have still posted the thread if it had ended up in one...

And a Golf will?!?!

Look at it - it's getting a complete spaceframe built!

You really think you can throw 300+Kg of engine in a mk1 Golf and get it to handle like a GTI?
