Do you need a bigger hatchback like a focus over a fiesta?

You do say 206 so i guess you're open to smaller hatches...steer well clear of a 206 though as they're hideous.

I've had my 04 1.4 MK5 for 4 years now and it's on 92k. It's been very reliable and affordable as a student. I find it very slow now..

Definitely look at focus 1.6 as an alternative.

What a great suggestion.... OP hasn't said he does diesel mileage so what better buy than an 8 year old, high mileage diesel with things like injectors, turbos and DMF to go wrong. As for being nippy a 0-60 time of between 12.4s and 14.1 is hardly "nippy".

Focus 1.6 is the best suggestion so far.
