Wagamamas not baby friendly....

So they asked if you could move where your child sat and you walked out instead of just moving the child?

No, we didn't get as far as sitting down - they wanted us to sit at a bench with our baby in a pram behind our backs and between us and the next bench. Not suitable at all and we wanted to sit on the end of the bench next to the bar (which didn't have hot food passing it) with our baby parked at the end - which would have been perfectly safe but the woman seating wouldn't have it.

So yes, we left and took our custom elsewhere.

Sorry, I think i would take the person who works there over your words.

Why?

You've been there how many times? 1? 10? 100?

She probably works there 5 days a week, that's 35 hours a week, and has seen more what goes on there, and chances are, hot food does go past where you think it doesn't. So she would know best where it is safe, where it isn't.

You mean she. Unless you know something we don't?

Was abou to post exactly what Raymond posted, who knows where hot food is likley to be carried the waitress who spends half her life in their or you who pops in once a month for an hour at a time?

I dont think babies or young children should be allowed in restaurants and bars at night at all.

I was having a chilled out meal and a couple of pints last night in a bar and in came a couple with a baby and a girl of about 4. The baby was fine but the 4 your old started playing up. I'm sure when I was younger there was a strict no children policy in pubs / bars at any time.

As far as your story, I wouldnt want to be a waiter carrying hot food over a baby. Maybe its just restaurant policy to keep prams out of the waiter walk ways

I have two children; 6 and 4. I agree they shouldn't go to bars (or pubs as we used to call them in the UK). But why not restaurants? If a child is being unruly then the parents should take control.

What did the parents say when you pointed out they were disturbing you? I assume they didn't ignore you?

I'm sure they have to follow regulations for who can sit where, especially with kids. If they did drop hot food on your baby accidentally would you then say "fair enough... i was warned but i didn't listen, I'll take no further action"

The bench I was talking about is right at one end of the restaurant, no one walks hot food past there - not unless they can walk through walls....
