Hey guys, does anyone know a good source of guitar wall hangers? I'm currently using the, very mediocre, garden fork holder method. Unfortunately, due to poor placement of the guitars, this has caused them to occasionally fall off (my Epiphone Les Paul ripped a plug socket out of the wall). What I really want to get are the sort that grab or lock onto your guitar then you put them in the holder so that there's zero possibility of them ever falling off again. I'm hoping to get 3 or 4 so they really need to be as cheap as possible, but still good. The Hercules ones look good but can be quite pricey...I need to be able to hang a P-Bass from one of them too, and I've noticed that Hercules do produce hangers meant for oddly shaped headstocks, but once again, I'm tring to find that at the cheapest price possible.

Cheers in advance everyone,

Suitcase foldable stands are better. Bad things can happen when walls can't support 10-16 pound weight hanging on them. Besides, guitars aren't really meant to be holding that kind of weight by the neck for prolonged period of time anyway. As some magazine said - "Hanging things by the neck should be reserved only for traitors and international war criminals - not guitars."

Old mans tip for putting rawplugs in walls no 27:

Part of your tool armoury should be the very long cocktail sticks which are superb for this job.
Drill your hole
Put in your rawplug
Ram large cocktail stick down hole and break off.
Ram cocktail stick down again and break off.
Do this as many times as you can until the hole closes with wood.
Now put your screw in.
If you feel it could still be stronger then ram another cocktail stick down.
You now have a very secure fitting in your wall - guaranteed (even with sand walls).

Yup. Never thought to do it with cocktail sticks...... I always used random splinters of wood. Their natural wedge shapes help you pack the hole solid.

You can also use plumbers epoxy if your walls are really crumbly. For those times a 5mm drill-bit makes a 2" piece of rock fall out of the plaster. :p

Thanks Dimple, that's a great plan. My problem is not with thing's staying on the wall; I am fortunate enough to live in a house made of brick and thus the attachments are fairly secure. I attached a plank of wood to the wall (a nice one) and then put the fork hooks on. It's the hooks that are the problem, not the wall!

The Hercules GSP38WB are great as far as I can tell, I'll be getting some! I'm fed up of guitars falling off the damn wall.
