Atm i have 2 17" samsung monitors with a max res of 1280 x 1024.

Only using 1 atm as my normal 24" in being rma'd.

So how do i go about setting it up?

Atm im using a Ati X1300XT 512 as my 4890 is being rma'd aswell.....

it has 2 ports, vga and dvi, do i just connect each monitor to each port and set the resolution and im done? or is it more complicated than that.

cheers

As you said, just plug them in and then boot into windows. If you have any issues, go into the display settings and set them like this (Obviously resolutions and monitor positions will vary) (Note, second monitor is highlighted.)

It's that simple, any issues just shout :).

Should be as simple as you're thinking.

- Connect one output to each screen
- Install ATI drivers (skip this if you've already installed them since installing the X1300)
- Open Catalyst Control Centre, select Displays and it should be plain sailing from there. I'm not in front of my home set up at the moment, so cannot tell you exactly what the screens say, but you'll want to "Extend your desktop" onto the second screen. If they end up the wrong way round, simply drag the screens around in Catalyst's Displays window until they show the way you want them (it's not obvious you can click and drag the screen images).

Any problems, post them up. Good luck.

P.S. I'm a slow typist - beaten by Voxination, who even provided pictures! :)

Lower the brightness of the brighter one? Or have you got any image brightness options in the CCC that you could use?
