Just bought a 2nd user 7970 vtx3d x-edition , so it is pre-overclocked , i have done a bit of tinkering with MSI afterburner.....but i would like to really try over clock , but would like to use a good bench marking program...there seems to be a lot of choice to download , so which one is the current best choice for testing my settings when overclocking the card ?

I am running the latest AMD beta drivers

But i would like to use just the original fans and air , rather than add any new kit to the the graphics card , i know its a lottery , but would can i expect overclocking wise using MSI afterburner , i've tried 1125 and 1600 with no extra voltage , played a few games with it at those speeds for a few hours , watch dogs and borderlands 2 , worked perfectly.

The rest of my system is :amd 8350 cpu , 240 evo 840 ssd , 16 gb ram (overclocked to 2033) AM3 mother board asus, Windows 7 64bit

Any new bios's for my graphics card ?!?

Plus any other advice welcome .

TIA

Thank you for your reply, how easy is it to use vbe7, do you have a link to the program, and was your 7970 originally a vtx3d 7970 x-edition before flashing to a Asus 7970 bios?

I assume, first flash to 7970 Asus, then run vbe7?

Is it fairly easy to do and fairly risk free, as I have no warranty with the card.
