I loved it, absolutely loved it and the 3hrs flew by! However, if there was one small annoyance then it was an absolutely unnecessary scene, only a short one but wow it was so odd for an MCU film -

The "feminism" (I guess) scene at the end battle where all the female stars get together for one quick fight scene - "don't worry shes's got help"? It was just unnecessary and felt really forced and out of place in the film series so far, but if thats the sort of future the MCU is going for then I'm glad the MCU ended for me with Endgame.

Here's a question regarding the start of the movie and the post credits scene of Captain Marvel

At the end of Captain Marvel, the Avengers are all standing around with the device that Fury had, to contact Captain marvel. The power dies but Captain Marvel appears and says "Where's Fury"

Near the start of End Game, Iron Man is asleep on the GOTG ship and Captain Marvel appears, and carries the ship back to earth.

So....Has Captain Marvel already been to earth, and the Avengers asked her to go find Tony Stark? Which makes sense why Tony was saved just in time....

OR

Does she come across Iron-Man randomly in space, drop him off and then have that conversation with the Avengers?

Point I made in #470

We don't see eye to eye on a lot of things here, but I did mention this as well:

Mehs:
I've been called a white knight SJW on this forum before, but I thought literally all the women of the MCU suddenly being their to help Captain Marvel get the Infinity Gauntlet through the hordes in front of her was a bit too on the nose....Captain Marvel kicked arse though.

I wondered this as well but have heard she went to Earth first off screen, otherwise that's some damn luck! Could have also worked nicely if Nebula and Tony had figured out the problem themselves using e.g. the batteries Rocket stole.

I liked the SJW bit, or at least in the moment because I was so pumped but yeah really on the nose :p

regarding the all female scene during the big fight, were they protecting spiderman? I am sure they were and to me that screams 'mother' instincts. Young lad in need of help. I am pretty sure spidy was in the middle....

I think they were protecting the person with the infinity stones...which is what pretty much everyone was doing at one point or another as they played pass the parcel with the gauntlet.

Also IIRC Marvel have had a couple of all female/female heavy teams in the past, the most recent incarnation being the A force or something which included she hulk (who is another character that from memory has been around for decades in the comics on and off).

So possibly we'll be seeing an A force film or TV series at some point given how often what are fairly minor bits in the film end up relating to a later film or TV series, and how Marvel/Disney are expanding the MCU and now have most/all of their characters back either directly in house (X-men are now back with the Fox buy) or via deals with the people who currently hold the movie rights (Sony who seem to have realised they can make more money with their Spiderman licence by letting Marvel basically make the films)

My only question
how did Tony take the stones so easily or switch them to his gauntlet? Just seemed too simple especially as Thanos had the glove on

The three characters that died, have the actors/actresses quit MCU then? I knew about CE saying a while back that he’s done and RDJ is getting on now etc

Well Cap didn't die, but yeah he's finished with the MCU. Scarlett Johansson is making this which is likely to be a prequel and Robert Downey Jr is 54 and very wealthy so he's finished with MCU as well.

Yeah good point. Well he’s dead to me.

I’ll miss RDJ, probably my favourite character.

The gauntlet thanos put on was the one Stark made using an iron man glove with nanotech, hence how it was able to expand to fit both the hulk and thanos, Stark's own Iron man suit was also nanotech so when he touched the one Thanos was wearing I assume the stones were pushed by the gauntlet onto onto his, as you see them finalising their position on his one before he uses it.

Basically the same thing that lets the glove change size and Stark's suit self repair also allows for movement of solid objects on the surface/inside the suit material.

It was Captain Marvel with the Gauntlet by then, and with her powers she didn't need that "women coming together to help her" scene which is why it was odd to me.

Don't forget Gamora looks to be "gone" again in the snap. Quill was searching for her at the end when Thor joined his ship so I don't know if the Iron Man snap removed her (as IM didn't know Gamrora was on his side then) but I can't of another reason she's missing.

Nah she's still alive, she just couldn't deal with being loved by a stranger.

Hopefully GOTG3 will feature Thor and be the search for Gamorra.

Nearly everyone i know hated it too

See, I didn't mind that scene. I thought it was great. Much like the scene in IW when Widow and Red spell caster woman (can never remember her name) fight the bad woman.

In fact I didn't think about it in the way people are talking about it. Just a great scene. The same could be said for the
all male scenes where none of the female characters are there.

Maybe so but I don't look for things like what people are feeling about that scene.
People are slating Thor for the way he was shown in EG. I thought it fitted well and loved his character in this movie. Maybe I just watch films and enjoy them without looking and feeling .... whatever!?! I dunno.
