ok in the uk your first yr is with your place of purchase ?
anything after that it go's back to the manufacture ?
true or false ?

Reseller ... Only vendor I know that you can send RMA directly to is Gigabyte and they are UK based, but normally state to go to vendor. Specially within the 30 day period . Also, if they have to replace a board, vendor didn't technically do it, the reseller does and then vendor restocks that board for them . So there's a chain of records

It depends on the brand. Gigabyte, EVGA, Corsair, Crucial and many others you can go to the manufacturer after the first year (even within the first year if you want). Other's such as Asus, Palit, Inno3D you need to go back to the place it was purchased for the whole of the warranty term.

Also sometimes can be better to go retailer first, depending on who it is, they might even exchange it for you quicker then going through the whole RMA process with a manufacturer.

by the tower the one up north ..
well got told this morning by overclockers my warranty is with the manufacture ..which in the uk is not true it's with the vendor .
as uk law prevails over everything ..

Unfortunately this is the process as the warranty is with the manufacture we have to send the product back after the first 30 days of purchase for repair/ replacement.

Regards,

Alex H

so really who's trying to pull the fast one ? there warranty may be with asrock but mine is with them .

@flea.rider

after the 30 day period of being able to do a straight swap- reseller ( retailer) sends it off to vendor for repair.
Both reseller and vendor and void the warranty - normally sellers get the product and test it before shipping it, say you covered the board in green gloo they'll straight away send it back saying void, if its all clear visual for them and send it off to vendor, they can still void it- case being cracked soldering with GPU if you dropped a PC etc etc etc . most of the time RMA goes through fine.

what is your board model and make ?

Yep is this way 1st retailer then after his test and if they are not able to replace it/repaired/doesn't have it in stock/ then u receive brand new at this way retail send damaged item to manufacture , manufacture send item to retail they send you new item.
Otherwise if you go directly to manufacture you need to call by phone like everything in uk need to be booked 1st...
The fallow was answer to me at monday by gigabyte e support.
HTML:
Choice 1: You may return the item to GBT Tech direct but the handling fee for this service is £15 (non refundable) and is payable by postal order only which must be sent with the item. Imported or Overseas Motherboards or VGA are not accepted. This fee is not any charge for warranty repair but is our administration charge only to cover the costs of returning the item back by insured courier “Action Express” within a 5 day period direct to a address of your choosing (Home or Work). If any replacement is required then up to 10 working days must be allowed from date our engineer attempts repair. If you live in the Republic of Ireland, the fee is £15 and the courier in this case will be UPS based on a standard service of 3 working day return.

Choice 2: If you do not agree with the charge(s) given above you may organize your own delivery and pick up courier service. On completion of any repair we will notify you by e mail and the item can then be collected at a date of your own choosing (except Weekends and Bank Holidays) with the courier chosen. How-ever you must give notice to us the name of the courier collecting quoting your RMA number and at least 24hrs notice before they are due. GBT Tech cannot be held responsible for goods returned by 3rd party courier services that are lost or damaged in transit.

If your original seller has ceased trading, please advise in your first e mail enquiry and each case then will be judged individually on any cost but you must provide the name of the trader for our checking with telephone number

We do not straight replace any item sent to us for RMA repair. If the goods are non repairable under warranty, only then will the item be replaced. All replacements are supplied at our own discretion either new or refurbished.

If you wish to deal direct and are happy to pay the fee, please send
e-mail to: [email protected] providing the following information

1. Tel number:
2. Postal Address:
3. E-mail:
4. Model Number:
5. Serial Number:
6. Supplier Name:

X370 Taichi asrock .. bios is corrupt
now what should happen is ocuk test it which they did confirmed send me a new one .. get a replacement from asrock .. well that's how it should work ..

As above , ALL vendor will repair then replace, I think Gigabyte attempts it 3 times , and in cases have taken ocuk word and replaced it there and then without issue - but is rare
Within 14 day or 30 can be straight swap

Doesn't that board have dual bios ?

Seems instant flash was added, though not sure if that's the same as Asus and Gigabyte of just plugging in a usb stick and pressing a button ...?

ok so the board must have reached asrock it's been 10 days .. and they must have checked it ..and found a problem
and the new board will be here tom .. from overclockers :)

nice, i think in cases, some boards cost to much to repair or are beyond repair and tell reseller to issue a new board and will replace stock :)

its then having a good reseller like ocuk that does it straight away :D
