I had a 3 year old 22 inch 2ms response time LG 1680x1050 LCD.

I now purchased a Benq LED 24 1080p 5 ms response time monitor.

Thing is I only use my monitor for online fps games. Apart from that I use all other games on my 40 inch HDTV 1080p.

TBH the only game I will play on monitor will be pretty much BF3.

Basically.

24v22

2ms RT vs 5ms RT

LCD vs LED

3-4 year old monitor vs 1 year old monitor (better technology/colours?)

I hope the 5ms RT doesnt mean my new monitor has more motion blur. My LG with 2ms RT is practically flawless I never see any lag/blur.

however I notice that the image quality on my LG is very bland and poor in comparison to my 1 year old Samsung HDTV. THerefore I think new technology gives better brightness/colour etc.

Is 24 going to be better than 22?

Also, unless I upgrade my hardware I will struggle with getting decent fps at 1080p :(

So, now I defo need to upgrade due to the higher RES!

i dout you will get motion blur with 5ms as the post above pointed out it really wont make any diffrence

and the higher res will make the game look a let better and personly i would find a 22 inch to small to game on but ive used 27 for years now

but deffo go for the 24 inch

I remember I used to game on 14 lol.

then my 19 crt was a beast.

Now I have a 40 inch HDTV my 22 feels to small I hate it. Therefore I hope 24 feels better. I had 28 inch for brief period but that was too big for my desk and OTT IMO.

I used to game on a 14". Can't remember the make/model but it was quite a high-spec version with OSD:p EVERYONE had 15" and even though I wanted one, I coudn't justify the £90 for 1". Then I saw somewhere selling a 19" for £115-120. I bought that and for a few days I couldn't get over the size of it to the point where I'd laugh at it when I saw it.:o

Personally I think anything too big does't work well with FPS games as you can't see the screen as a whole (obviously this depends on how close you sit) I use a 22" up close and I can pick up on movement anywhere on the screen I don't have to move my eyes to focus on parts. By the way I have had a 27" monitor and also used to my 42" TV. I just find 22" works best for me.

Its 50/50 for me

On big monitor pixels are bigger so its easier to see distant enemies etc as they appear bigger.

However on the smaller monitor my field off vision I can see all over the screen whereas the bigger monitor I may miss or delay in seeing enemies in corners of screen.

I have 40 inch 1080p anwyay. I seem to do better when I play on the 22.

I dont know which I prefer. For using controller I prefer 40 inch. For keys and mouse at desk obviously 40 inch is to big to sit close to.

and now my 22 seems tiny lmao. Cant believe I played like deus ex on a 14 incher lol. And it didnt seem small.
