Not exactly 'stealing', it was obviously in reference. You obviously knew where it came from, as do many other posters here. Relax guy.

This is true in that it's a mistranslation from the French ver (fur) I believe except it was taken to be verre (glass). However I'm not sure I'd immediately jump to the conclusion that it's a euphemism, it may be but equally fur is simply likely to be a more common material for footwear than glass ever was.

That may be the first time I've ever seen kwerk called left wing, a Labour supporter or at all politically correct - I suspect you'll have offended him deeply with these baseless claims. :p
