WASD Keys not working in games

Hi all,

I am new to PC gaming and have come up against some annoyances that google doesn't seem to solve. (None of the fixes I've seen anyway)

My keyboard works perfectly fine till I am in certain games. the WASD keys do not work properly when moving a character. For example, in Battlefield 1 or Doom, when I press W to move forward, the character moves forward a little, then the movement is jerky if at all. like the character has suddenly got stuck in quick sand.

These keys work ok for Witcher 3, but seem to struggle in FPS games. Any advice?

I am running a Cougar 600K

Nope (which I need to change haha)

Looking online, lots of people have said its an issue with Geforce Experience?

Sticky keys on?
Keyboard power saving set to off in control panel/devices.

Already tried that, the option wasn't selected anyway.

Try turning off sleep and key repeat in the cougar software.
Any other device plugged in controller/wheel etc?
Have you got another keyboard you can try?

I took out the Xbox controller which was plugged into the pass-through USB. And I also selected the "x1" option on the keyboard, it is on x4 by default. This seemed to work. Ill keep trying it though to make sure it wasn't fluke!
