AFAIK, this hasn't been asked recently. Couldn't find it in the search, so here goes.

As the title, what have you bought that looking back you think, why the **** did I buy that?

Looking back I have spent way too much on crap I didn't need. 10 or more years ago, I spent over £500 on a RC car. Looking back I think why the **** did I do that? I bought other RC cars previously, which I got a lot of fun out of. Rather than save money, or spend it on something worthwhile, I thought it would be good to blow half a grand on one. Something is good value if one gets a lot of enjoyment from the product, or uses it a lot, whatever it is. Wouldn't have been so bad if got value out of it, but I hardly used the damn thing.

Inheriting a nice amount of money is never a good thing when one is young, not in my case anyway. Really could use the few grand I must have blown on useless crap, like a £250 Mini Discman that rarely was used. Live and learn as they say, thankfully, I did...eventually.

My PC from here, i loved it but should not have bought it. Ended up getting it on finance on a whim so failed hard in that aspect, however i was able to sell all the bits off for a fraction more than what i paid for it.

When I was 18 I got £1000 from my parents. I basically just blew it (think I bought a PS1 + games etc).

In retrospect (knowing what I know now), I wish I'd spent it on a trip to SEA.

But my biggest waste of money was games, dvd's, beer and just general rubbish over the last 10 years. I've since learned the error of my ways!

Loan for my car, which I spent only a fraction on buying the car and wasted the rest up the wall. Still 12 and a half months left till it's paid off

if I had spent it on the car I could have been driving it around and it would be in a good shape :(, still learn by mistakes. If you get a loan use it on the intended purchase.

my bass POD, while it's a good little machine, I barely use any of the functions on it, it's fun when really kicking music out and all if you know what effects to use to recreate sounds form songs, but other than that, it just sits on a basic effect.

cost a shed load, and had to pay import tax which was loads too as I bought it from US

i'd probably say pizza

i've definitely spent over a grand on take away pizza over the time i've been at uni (3rd year now) which leaves me feeling...... like i should order a pizza :D

I'm really struggling to thing of a single thing I've regretted buying.
I don't waste my money on cheap tat or buy impulsively.
I buy lots of alcohol, cigarettes, coffee etc. And used to buy lots of drugs. I don't regret it.

I don't know, I regret buying a couple of the £5 scratchcards.
I regret buying a cheap crossbow, cheap airsoft weapons, chinatown air rifle, because I ended up replacing all of them with quality items.

I don't really feel like i've wasted my money though, all the drinking and smoking and random food, it has been enjoyed very much.

Some years back the family got very heavily into the compulsive and addictive underworld surrounding Beanie Babies. We had hundreds of the things in boxes, all reportedly collectors items. Luckily we sold them before the bottom dropped out of the market.

I'm not too bad about selling things on. I even have a corner of my room filled with just empty boxes and evelopes ready to be used while getting rid of stuff.

I could say e.g. a PS2 or DS Lite, but then I sold them on very quickly after realising I didn't want them.
