Watch your drinks people

I wonder what percentage of people who beleive they were spiked simply drunk too much...

There was an article last year in one of the papers I think which dealt with just that issue. By all accounts there have been zero proven cases of drinks being spiked.

I have to bite my tongue everytime i hear someone say "ohhh yeh, my drink was spiked - that's why i was sick and couldn't walk".

I'm willing to bet 95%+ of the time it's down to drinking too much, drinking on an empty stomach or mixing drinks.

I hope someone doesn't spike my GHB. ;)

99.9%? Everytime I hear someone thinks they got 'spiked' it involves heavy vomiting, surely you wouldn't use a drug that does that and instead use a tranquiliser/anesthetic? one even as basic as ketamine?

GHB is an anaesthetic. Ketamine also causes vomiting.

Isn't GHB the stuff that is used in nail polish or nail polish remover or something? I think I remember something on Radio 4 about it being difficult to make illegal because it is used so commonly in the manufacture of household products.

GHB is a chemical in the brain that acts as a depressant. It's probably the easiest drug to make at home, even easier than alcohol.

Oh dear - Read the thread.

Post 26, we're not allowed to talk about our own experiences for some reason.

Don't say Oh dear please. I have read the thread. It's difficult to tell whether you're trying to be funny or what after you started taking the thread in a "no-one believed me last year, let's bring it back up, I've seen how my daughter acts for 23 years" direction...

Do you want people to post their experiences in the thread or do you just want 3 replies which are :
1) Don't believe you
2) I believe you
3) Cool story bro

We'll leave it up to Dave and if he says he just wants his story then I'll leave the thread.

Nick Ross, chair of the Jill Dando Institute of Crime Science, commented: "There is no evidence of widespread use of hypnotics in sexual assault, let alone Rohypnol, despite many attempts to prove the contrary.
"During thousands of blood and alcohol tests lots of judgement-impairing compounds were discovered, but they were mostly street drugs or prescription pharmaceuticals taken by the victims themselves, and above all alcohol was the common theme.
"As Dr Burgess observes, it is not scientific evidence which keeps the drug rape myth alive but the fact that it serves so many useful functions."

He was taking E and came up with this story to tell the family

Or ket and alcohol = vomit.

i know people who have taken drugs and later decided to say they were spiked as a cover up story.

who wouldn't?

"hey dad, i was out then i snorted a line of ket and dropped 3 pills"
or
"I must have been spiked, I only had one drink, honest"

Hmm, I never thought of it like that before.

Of course its a discussion. I of course believe my brother as he is not into drugs. But no one knows what they put in his drink could have been anything. The doctors just said it sounded like GHB due to the convulsing etc.
