Got brought me a lovely watch for xmas. Its a analog steel bracelet one . But can any1 explain to me what the dial is used for ( its on the outer case of the watch, with numbered mins.)

If you mean a rotating bezel, It can be used as a stop watch of sorts, rotate it so the 'Top' is where the big hand is and then you can see how many minutes from that point it has been....
