water in nightclubs?

Whats the law on this now? I went to vibealite last night and was reasonably sober. Loads of poeple had bottles of water, so i went to the bar to get a pint of water but then was handed a bottle of water and asked for £3 !! I said i wanted a pint but have me a tiny cup instead.

Also in the toliets the tap water is only warm/hot, im thinking this is to stop people topping their bottles up?

If I ask for a pint of water is it within my rights to demand it or not?

I'm sure they have to supply free drinking water if asked. How much they give you I doubt is controlled, but it's unreasonable of them not to give you a pint/half pint glass of water if you ask for one, definately!

You can ask for tap water and they have to give it to you, but iirc they don't have to give you a pint of it. They're well within their rights to give you a cup full rather than a huge glass full.

If they are selling alcohol they must provide free water, yes, if they give you a small cup it could be that they don't have a tap right there and have to carry the water in jugs.

thats it though. It came from a tap (i saw it) and there was small and large plastic cups. I got the small one though. :rolleyes:

If you ask for tap water, they have to give it to you for free. If you just asked for water, it doesn't surprise me that they will try to make you pay for bottled water.

You could always just ask for a Pint of tab water, be specific.

Yes it is, and a lot of clubs that i go to do this, Slinky in Bournemouth does this the most, its a right pain, other clubs will quite happily let you refill from the tap, but some are funny and switch the cold off, so you only have hot watter at a tap

if they still give you a small cup, just ask for 2 cups of water and an empty large cup :}

ive drank hot water before in clubs, its actually nice when your as dry inside as a camels arse

I'm sure they have to have to have running hot and cold taps. Although when you see some men having a pee in a sink I wouldnt want to wash my hands in a pub or nightclub never mind drink from them.

One club in town has a small water fountain in the Toilets, its great when you dont want alcohol or soft drinks and you just what to wet your whistle.

Eww with the state of most toilets in clubs, I wouldn't even consider drinking from that. Most drunk people aren't going to be able to tell the difference between a drinking fountain and a urinal.
